Today, SIX years ago, Summerwind and I arrived in Fort Pierce, FL after a 61 day single handed sail from Boston, MA. I sold Summerwind three years ago since there is no sailing around here due to too much shoal water. We shared so much together.
I have no idea where she is now, but do hope the new owner is enjoying her as much as I did.
I would never have believed that I would be here for so long. It took me some three years to adjust and re-invent myself. However, being here has allowed me to develop as a full time artist...now being represented by several prominent galleries. There is much that I still miss in New England: the Seasons, elevation, great sailing and good friends. Perhaps next summer I will be able to spend much more time in New England…maybe find some studio space? Until then, I will enjoy my long walks on the beach, painting in a great studio, an easy lifestyle and exploring so much about what this state has to offer away from its coastlines.
